Local Jamaican's celebrated their Christmas day by dancing to reggae music and having the odd can of beer, all in good humour and behaving themselves. A great bunch of lads who were very friendly towards onthespot.
Pictured below was the scene Christmas Day 2002
Smiles for the camera
Dancing the day away
One chill's out (or showing off)
It's back to dancing

The lads wish everyone a merry Christmas

My dear Doctor,
What year is this? Last time I checked it was 2002 not 1902.
I find it so hard to believe that there are people out there who still feel that they can dictate how one should celebrate Christ.
Religion, faith - call it what you will, is a fundementally personal thing between you and your God, Allah, Buddah or whatever you choose to believe in. If our Jamaican friends (and I was more shocked that there were so many in Southport! Where have they been hiding?!) choose to celebrate Christmas this way, then so be it.
Who is to say which is right - drinking and dancing to good music and having a smile on your face, or sitting around a table, getting drunk and watching James Bond on the telly?
Going to church every Sunday doesn't automatically make you a better or more righteous person. It is more important to live your life to the full and make a difference in this world.
Jesus died so that we could live our lives the way we wanted to. So stop being so pompous and spend more time making your life count instead of critisising others.
(And before anyone bothers to point it out, the irony of my critisisms of Doctor have not escaped me!)
