The Skateboard Park is now open.

Crowds of youngsters gathered all day in anticipation of the opening of this new facility they had been requesting for so long.
The wait ended at 4pm today when a temporary "open for business" notice was posted on the gate. Shortly afterwards the workmen who had been doing the final touches and clearing up, departed the site allowing the eager kids to start their long-awaited activities.
It didn't take them long to get into the swing of things and soon many of them had already fallen off, to the great delight of their friends.
The fact that this new park is open after darkness has fallen and that upwards of 100 kids were enjoying themselves makes a complete mockery of the fact that no lighting has been provided.
I urge the council to urgently reconsider fitting proper lighting.
As I returned home along Scarisbrick New Road, an ambulance passed me going into town with lights and horns (4.35pm). Does anybody know if this was to be the first casualty?

dus it cost 2 go 2 the sk8park? cos if it dus then no1 will nbother goin (includin me) i havent been able 2 go yet cos it woz chuckin it down 2day n the day it opened (yesterday) i woz otherwise engaged. sum1 plz reply n tell me. by the way the thing about gettin injured the death rate of skatin is smaller than u think u no :p.
