I would be very interested to know what speed was involved in this incident.

Concern has been expressed to ther traffic police locally on a number of occasions regarding the apparent lack of detection of 'high speed' speed-limit infringers, particularly on our long straight roads in Southport.

Pluto, I am one of the parents of the children in the photo. As others have posted, the crash was outside houses which people actually live in.

I see you are a Formby resident, perhaps things like this don't occur in Formby, your comment was irrelevant, these children are good kids, however you seen to have made up your mind from a photo, shame.

Looking at the damage to this car I would have said they crashed at about 45-50mph, maybe they didn't loose control of the vehicle, ball joints are very common to break on these cars, maybe they should consider themselves quite lucky they wern't doing 70 on the motorway when it happened, you dont have to be doing very high speeds to turn a car over hitting a kerb at an angle whilst doing 30 is enougth to set the car raising possible hitting the tree finished rolling it over.

At least no pedestrians were hit, I'll try and get a detailed report from the accident investigator at a later date.

Thank Goodness nobody was walking on the pavement when they crashed!
Did they break one of the lovely Blossom Trees?

Well said Saint!;)

The hordes of 'children' in the background look suspiciously like those who regularly hang around this area, breaking the phone box and bus stop glass on a regular basis. Ah well, at least this incident would have kept them amused for a while.

Pluto says: Sun 11th Jan 2004, 10:38 PM
Anyone actualy read the question?

Not you mrs.b :)

I was just making a point as I saw many children get battered when i was younger as gangs used to roam the streets looking for rivals to fight with and steal from.

Saint, I'm not bothered if your not.

 wasnt us in the picture that smash phone boxes and bus stops.. one of the guys on the pics house's was next door. why would we smash a phone box outside 1 of our friends house? Why do you always expect kids to be hooligans? Trying living your life to the full instead of cristisising other people!!! The old women on the picture could of smashed the phone box why do you always think "oh it must be them , little hooligans" !!!!!!!!!!

Silly Tilly says: Tue 13th Jan 2004, 09:05 PM
well said Jonno08, Its about time people stopped taking things on face value on this site and assuming it was all kids and young people who cause all the damage in this town!

Not every young person is a thug or hooligan!

themaster obviously knows the drunken fat bugger and wanted to highlight the point!

I think "drunken fat bugger" doesn't narrow it down much!
