Naomi Gilyeat’s disappearing act cost the taxpayers a whopping £30,000 for the police hunt that took place on Saturday 10th January after leaving her mobile phone and handbag on the beach at Weld Road Birdale.

Naomi ran off with Sam Brown who is married to Melissa. Sam ( was a Security Guard at Pontins Ainsdale) left Melissa without any money to look after her 3 children (aged 6,2 and 18 months old) and also expecting another baby in June, she is 5 months pregnant.

In an exclusive interview this evening with southport.gb.com Melissa said; "Sam is a damn liar and a cheat" "He even told me that he loved me and the children that Friday evening just hours before Naomi went off to be with him, he also told me that the affair with Naomi was over, it was just sex with her."

I'm not worried about who agrees with me! I'm worried that I don't post something that maybe could be taken as libellous (or is it scandalous:( ) Anyway, wouldn't want to worry that I might have published publicly that statement (above) about somebody that may be totally innocent!

But back to the News Thread........... Poor Melissa....... It must be difficult enough, all of this, but to be a mum of 3 with another on the way!! I hope she's alright. I hope she's got family, friends to rely on for support!

I feel so insensed at the way that Naomi Gilyeat has just been allowed to get away with the way she deliberately misled everybody especially leaving her bag and mobile so close to where that poor girl was murdered last year. Like a lot of other people I wondered if she had been killed too, and I'm sure that is what she wanted us to think. I feel so sorry for her father. He must be very embarressed to say the least. As for the cost of 30,000 pounds to look for her, she should be made to pay that back some-how, but I suppose her poor father would cop for that too. It might not be a crime to do a runner, but I feel sure it's a crime to mislead and waste police time. Naomi Gilyeat and Sam Brown deserve each other, and I wish his wife all the best.

If you are a stupid waste of time who deceives all around you and KNOWINGLY wastes police time, therefore public money, you get let off.Not even a warning.

I was talking to a Police Officer on the morning she was found to be OK. He was ( in MY opinion, quite rightly ) VERY peeved that himself and many of his colleagues had worked DOUBLE shifts ( 20 hours ) in very cold weather searching for this young lady.

Is it any wonder that the Police Force insist on waiting for a certain length of time before beginning a search for a missing person when people do such stupid things like " staging " a disappearance?

Sorry, but I feel that Naomi should help foot the bill for the major search her " disappearance " resulted in.

I have followed this story and i feel i must apoligise for my first posting,
i mentioned that we shouldnt judge people and we didnt know her private life.

Well going off the end result i am very glad i dont know her private life if thats what she does,
going around splitting familys up!!!!
I agree she should be made to pay back for the time she has wasted and all that money,
if she cant pay it back ,she can do in another way,
COMMUNITY SERVICE.
stick her in a rest home to look after the elderly or stick her in the parks painting fences ,
but she needs to be made an example of she needs to be punished in a big way.

I know it takes 2 to tango ,but he has little ones and one on the way!!!
