Taxis Promote Southport Flower Show

Lily clad black cabs will be seen around Liverpool, Preston and Southport throughout July and August promoting Southport Flower Show which takes place this year from 17th until 20th August 2006.
Julia Humphreys, director of operations for what is the town’s biggest event of the year said: “With a theme of water this year at the Show, people will see a single, dramatic white lily on the side of the cabs and on the tip-up seats inside the carriage. We hope that this mobile advertising campaign will help to increase awareness of the Show in the surrounding areas and encourage people to save money by purchasing tickets in advance.”
The theme of water is bound to generate some spectacular garden designs and inspirational ideas. Maverick gardener Diarmuid Gavin will officially open the Show on Thursday 17th August and Russell Grant will be hosting Ladies Day, (for which special tickets are available) on Friday 18th August. Southport Flower Show, which is the UK’s largest independent flower show, is bigger in size than its Chelsea counterpart. This year continues its focus on providing the largest area dedicated to amateur gardeners at a flower show as well as attracting the family market with an interactive children’s play area and daily live music and entertainment. There are a wide variety of attractions under cover, gourmet cookery, crafts and lifestyle products, so there really is something for all ages and whatever the weather.
A flexible ticketing system enables people to purchase discounted tickets in advance and use them on any one of the four days without having to specify exactly which day they plan to visit. A special four-day pass offers great value for money at just £29 which allows admission every day throughout the show as well as access to a special patrons lounge, restaurant and private conveniences. Individual advance tickets are £13 per person or £16 on the day. Children under 16 go free when accompanied by a full paying adult.
