Amanda Thompson must be a strong lass if she managed to demolish the fairground all on her own!

I wonder if the brakes will be sorted out. It was way too easy to time the ride out.

Amanda Thompson appears to have learnt nothing after ruining Southports Fun Fair, this year Blackpool Pleasure Beach has introduced a £5.00 entrance fee so that visitors can "enjoy the ambience of the park" as a regular visitor to Blackpool I cannot believe how quiet the whole south pier end of town is. If people wouldnt pay £2 at Southport they certainly wont pay £5 at Blackpool.

Lets hope she gets her just deserts when she has ruined Blackpool like she did to Southport

Used to get brilliant whiplash from the end of that ride...

If you look at the adds for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, they have taken the name Blackpool out of the name. It is now Pleasure Beach Resort. Blackpool Council still jump though when the Family tell them to. Who else could order a Council to have a special meeting on a Sunday because a travelling fair set up in Blackpool.

Yup Amanda thompson has got her fingers in many pies, anyone that can destroy a towns leisure industry is pretty powerful.
However we can only hope that her egotistical business manner and her penchant for bribing councils will bring about her downfall.
Cue Ecclesface or some other alias to come to her defence.
If true justice was done in Southport, Blackpool would be a seperate country and folk would need a passport to get in and out of there.

I think it is great that they are trying to re-establish lost rides to pleasureland! obviously we dont want the old ones that have gone to margate but if they can re establish what has gone and bring ones that are better then I think Norman Wallis is on a winner!! I wish he would get some land in southport to get his hands into so that a real fair can be created again!!cause i think some of the traveling rides put people off going as they look tacky with the chavy pics of women with big boobs and winking and whatever on them with multi colours...

OfficePest says: Sun 17th May 2009, 08:47 PM
What ever happened to scott? He used to be such a ray of sunshine :D

scozz says: Sun 17th May 2009, 08:48 PM
I think most Southport folk would be happy to have their old rides back.
Chavvy women with big boobs and winking is what fairgrounds are all about, along with the smell of candy floss and hot dogs and the latest top ten hit played at distorted volumes.

john6 says: Sun 17th May 2009, 08:58 PM
true, but i just think that the rides that they are on are a bit crappy, it would be great to get as many rides back as possible then they may have a chance at securing the site to not be redeveloped into that crappy inland beach that urban splash wanna do! a bathing lake again maybe.... or a winter gardens again would be great, but if something could be put on the pleasureland site that would be of some interest!

I have an idea! hehe!..

this is good news for the fair,as for bringing back old rides, don't bring chaos back as that ride was breaking down more than that it was running.
