How dreadful.
I'm glad to know my dad is safe with my mum this afternoon - he comes into Southport for a drink with his friend each Tuesday, and has been known to forget where he's going afterwards
At least now I know what the police would do if it happens again.
I've told mum to give him the mobile phone so we can call him if he gets lost, but she says he can't work out how to use it.
Maybe we should paint him fluorescent yellow or something?

DebonAir - If you dad sometimes goes missing on a Tuesday after having had his pint, he's probably in the Guest House with us

We're all wondering where we live after a Tuesday night in the Guest House.
Hope the Old Gent is safe and sound.

Dad got lost again today, in Crosby where they live.
Mum's not sure whether he's not listening when she says where to meet up, or if he's forgetting.
Maybe he's trying to escape!
Worrying though

Deb, my friend's dad used to get lost and as he was rather confused and sometimes got his words mixed up, people couldn't understand what he was saying. So my friend had some little (credit card size) cards made up and laminated. On them were her home, mobile and work numbers, also a couple of other emergency numbers (his community health nurse and doctor) She put one in each of his coats and jackets and his wallet.
It did actually work, so it may be worth you doing something like that for your dad.
