Online Remittance to India: 3 Simple Steps Is All It Takes
NRIs now have a plethora of options for sending funds to India. But the speed, security, and convenience of online transfers are unmatched. Check out this post to know how you can send funds to India in 3 simple steps.
International remittance was a time-consuming and expensive affair for NRIs in the past. But thanks to modern technologies, there are now many different types of faster and more affordable money transfer options available. But as compared to options like offline transfers, most NRIs now prefer online transfers for sending funds to India.
It is convenient, secure, and only requires a few minutes. Some of the Indian banks that offer international money transfer services now also have their mobile apps for complete convenience. If this is the first time that you are sending funds to India through an online transfer service, here are the three steps you need to follow-
1 Place the Transfer Request
Once you have created an account at the official portal of the service provider, you can log in with your username and password. After logging in, look for the ‘Add Beneficiary’ option. Select it, and you will be asked to enter details like bank account number, bank name, branch, etc. of the beneficiary (receiver) in India.
Confirm and save these details. Now, select the money transfer option, and you will see the name of the registered beneficiary already available in the list of receivers. Select the beneficiary and enter the amount you’d like to send. Confirm the transaction and note the tracking number with American Sign Letters.
2 Transfer Funds to Service Provider
You can find the local account details of the service provider on their official website. After placing the transfer request with the service provider, log into the online banking portal of your local bank. Initiate a transfer, and the beneficiary details here will be the same as the account details of the service provider.
Enter the same amount that you’d like to send to your beneficiary in India. In the ‘Message to Recipient” column, enter the tracking number that you have received after placing the transfer request in the first step. Confirm the transfer.
3 Credit to Beneficiary
Once the local bank account of the service provider receives funds from your account, it will then initiate your online remittance to India. The funds would be directly deposited into the bank account of your beneficiary in India.
The transfer duration can vary based on location from where you are sending the funds. But rest assured that it’d be significantly faster than offline transfers, especially if your beneficiary has an account in the same bank whose money transfer service you are using. You can also use the tracking number for tracking the status of your transfer.
Online Transfers: Simple and Secure
As you can see, sending funds to India with an online transfer service provider is both simple and secure. You can browse through the website of the service provider to understand these steps in detail and also know more about the transfer costs and duration.
Always prefer a reputed Indian bank for online transfers to India to make sure that your beneficiary receives the hard-earned money safely and securely.
